Out with the lycra and in with the baggies! After suggesting this a while ago I have been a lazy arse and not sorted this yet. So lazy in fact that I have no free weekend mornings left this year, so I am shooting for Sunday Jan 8. Meet in the car park at 8 am (sunrise). I would expect to get round the whole thing (Follow the Dog and Monkey Trail, around 14 miles in all) in around 2:00 to 2:30 so not too quick. Based on first time responses, I had the following interested people:

Ed
Steve B
Amanda (possibly)
Ian A

Both trails are red graded, which isn't beginner's but arrive early enough and should be able to do it slow-ish without getting in too many people's way. Decent bike handling skills and a lack of common sense would both be useful but the main thing is an ability to miss trees and be fit enough for the hills.

if you've not done any trails before (man made or natural), they are great fund and ideal for blowing out the post-Christmas / New Year cobwebs! I have a couple of spare seats and spaces on the bike rack if anyone wants a lift (and I promise to do the clamps up nice and tight this time!)

Let me know if you are interested.

Cheers

Bruce

PS more info available at http://chasetrails.co.uk/ and to get a good idea of the trails, search for "Cannock Chase" on YouTube - try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjIT7RaUaXc

PPS don't do what I did first time and misread the directions, wonder why the trails look a bit steep and only halfway down figure you went to the downhill site by mistake, which is about 3 miles from the main trail head and #(&$ing scary.
