MOSES KIPTANUI
For the
uneducated, Moses is the Kenyan long distance running legend whose
achievements include an
Olympics
silver
in the
3000m Steeplechase in
1996, and World
Championship Gold
in 1991, 1993 &
1995 3000m Steeplechase,
plus
1997 Silver
in the 5000m. He was the
world’s
number one ranked distance
athlete from 1991 to 1995. Kiptanui was
also the first man ever to run 3000m steeplechase in under eight
minutes (7:59.18)
and is a World Record holder
over
3000m in
(7:28.96) and
5000m (12:55.30)
